HIKING AND TREKKING IN UMBRIA

All you need for enjoyable walking is a good pair of walking shoes, a wonderful view, decent weather, and a destination.  Umbria offers all of the above, beginning in Umbertide: for those who like easy strolls, a walk along the Tiber River in Umbertide is delightful.  For the convenience of our guests, we keep a copy of Martin Daykin’s “Circular Walks,” a guide to where and when to trek in the immediate vicinity, including Montone, Perugia, Niccone Valley, Lake Trasimeno and Cortona.  For more serious hikers, Assisi, Gubbio and the spectacular Monti Sibillini National Park offer many paths to follow.
