A DAY TRIP TO LAKE TRASIMENO FROM EL MARSAM

At the crossroads of Umbria and Tuscany, Lake Trasimeno offers a break from museums and monuments and invites relaxation in a natural setting.  During the spring, flowers blanket the area around the lake, the fourth largest in Italy.  Hiking, trekking, water sports and birding are popular pastimes.  The small towns (Tuoro, Passignano, Castiglione del Lago) are lovely spots to leisurely stroll and explore unspoiled Umbria, stopping when it’s time for an afternoon aperitif at a lakeside café, or a fish dinner at one of the popular trattorie.
