A DAY TRIP TO DERUTA FROM EL MARSAM

If you like pottery, then a day trip to Deruta is a must.   Exquisite majolica pottery has been created in Deruta since the early sixteenth century. Today its factories employ ceramists from all over Italy to produce new designs alongside their ancient turquoise, yellow and green patterns. There are innumerable workshops and stores - in fact, most of the 7600 residents are involved in this work.   Most of the shops will ship anywhere.

Deruta is a 50-minute drive from El Marsam, approximately 35 miles south of Umbertide.

In an effort to make the discovery of Umbria and Tuscany more convenient and enjoyable for our guests, we have prepared and provide an up-to-date guest booklet with day trip itineraries from El Marsam.  These pages include directions, restaurant and shopping suggestions, and sights to be seen.
