A DAY TRIP TO MONTEFALCO FROM EL MARSAM

Montefalco, which means, the Falcon’s Mount, is one of the finest hill towns in the area, overlooking the Valley of Spoleto.  It is a maze of tiny, cobbled streets with a rich artistic heritage that includes the incredible fresco cycle by Gozzoli, depicting the life of St. Francis.  Perhaps even better known for its famed Sagrantino, a much prized Umbrian red wine, made from the Sagrantino grape, a variety found nowhere else in Europe.  If it’s textiles that appeal to you, Montefalco produces some of the most beautiful woven textiles in Italy.

Montefalco is a 55-minute drive from El Marsam.

In an effort to make the discovery of Umbria and Tuscany more convenient and enjoyable for our guests, we have prepared and provide an up-to-date guest booklet with day trip itineraries from El Marsam.  These pages include directions, restaurant and shopping suggestions, and sights to be seen.
