A Day Trip to Florence from El Marsam

It is possible to do a day trip to Florence from El Marsam. With advance planning you can visit the Uffizi Galleries, see the David at the Academia, eat a quick Tuscan lunch and do a little shopping. It possible to drive your car (approximately 2 hour drive) although parking in the city is a challenge. We recommend you take a train from Terontola to Florence. You may leave your car at the Terontola station free of charge and with total peace of mind. (Be sure to lock it)

If traveling to Italy during peak tourist season, it is advisable to make reservations for the museums 10-14 days in advance, on line http://www.florenceart.it/ and pay for them by credit card. In this way you will be able to enter directly into the museum (entries every 15 minutes). Otherwise, the wait can be up to two hours. You may also check on train schedules at http://www.trenitalia.com/
